Update - 2nd week of January

Well, there wasn't much education going on today, but I started my new job for January this morning, so it's not unexpected. Ilsuk took the boys to the public bathhouse with his dad, and the kids had a wonderful time. AJ is beginning to overcome his temper tantrums at bed and nap time which started a little less than a week ago and were driving me crazy, and BJ is back on his normal sleep schedule--thank the Lord, his little body is starting to really take to a schedule and he begins to self correct when he gets off!

As for informal learning, AJ is starting to sing the ABCs and a couple of random English and Korean children's songs. AJ is also starting to say "please" in both languages and is beginning to understand that if he stops the temper tantrum and says "please", I will often give him what he wants (although I have to tell him to do this, he does listen). BJ knows the alphabet song and is starting to understand that certain letters make certain sounds. He knows about half of the English alphabet by sight and is starting to recognize some Korean letters (although, due to broadcasting conventions here, he already recognizes the written names of several of his favorite TV shows as well as a couple that he "can't want"). Also, BJ loves National Geographic's website videos, and he is learning about his favorite animals there. For those of you who'd like to visit, the website is http://video.nationalgeographic.com. BJ really loves the octopus eating the shark and the squid attacking the diver. He's also pretty into carrier crabs as well as the various trailers/videos for National Geographic's movie "Sea Monsters" about prehistoric fish over what is now the US Northwest.

Also, Ilsuk's grandma is really sick, so please keep her in your prayers.

Love,Beth et al.
